Homeschool Day at Cheekwood

Home School Day @ Cheekwood Botanical Gardens
Wednesday, August 29th, 2012
10:00am - 2:00pm

Join other home school students and families for a day of educational fun at Cheekwood!!  Groups are welcome to picnic at Cheekwood during the day.  


Activities for the Day:
Take a Garden tour:  10am; 11am; 12:30pm
Explore Treehouses* and create a Treehouse-inspired art activity:  ongoing
Go on a Sculpture Trail Hike: 11:30am
Engage in discussions about artwork with Cheekwood docents: ongoing
Participate in self-guided activities, such as Backpack Adventure & Botanical Bingo: ongoing
Enjoy Ben & Jerry's ice cream: ongoing (not free)

*Treehouses closes on Sept 3! 
Have you seen Treehouses? This fun exhibition is the hit of the summer for Nashville’s families, art lovers, and kids of all ages. Learn to share with the Rainbow Fish, swashbuckle aboard the Jolly Roger, explore the Hobbit’s world and more as you discover structures inspired by famous stories. As summer draws to a close, so will the exhibition –there’s just one month left to experience the magic of Treehouses!

Admission:  FREE for home school students.  Accompanying adults are $10 each(cash only, paid upon arrival)  In order to get this rate you MUST complete the registration form online.

Centennial Park Big Band Dances

Aug 4, 11, 18 & 25:
