Do you know about CarolinaHomeschooler? They organize group trips and events that are within striking distance of the Carolinas and they invite home schooling families from other states to participate as well. Here are some of their current offerings:
Baseball Game, Picnic, & Fireworks!
If
you live in the Carolinas and are interested in meeting other
homeschoolers in our region, consider joining us for a Charlotte Knights
baseball game, picnic, and fireworks. There will be plenty to eat, and
plenty of time for the kids (and adults!) to socialize, whether you want
to watch the game or not! Register at http://www.carolinahomeschooler.com/atravelkni.html.
Kingdom Keepers Quest and SeaWorld
We've
added the Kingdom Keepers Quest and a SeaWorld visit to our Disney
World trip this year. The Kingdom Keepers Quest ($10 per student) is a
self-guided group adventure through the Magic Kingdom based on the
Kingdom Keepers books by Ridley Pearson. The SeaWorld visit ($25 per
person) includes a 30-minute educational presentation, followed by free
time in the park. Visit our Disney Special Events page at http://www.carolinahomeschooler.com/atravelwdw3.html or more information about both.
Barrier Island Science Camp Confirmed
The
Barrier Island Science Camp has been confirmed. We currently have a
waiting list for lodge rooms, but have plenty of cabin space. The
registration deadline is May 15. For more information, visit http://www.carolinahomeschooler.com/atravelbip.html.
Explore Washington DC with us!
Join
us in October for our 7th trip to Washington DC! We're planning to tour
the various memorials and monuments, the White House, Arlington
Cemetery, US Capitol, the Pentagon, Ford's Theater, Museum of Crime and
Punishment, and more. We'll also have time to visit your choice of
Smithsonian museums such as: Air and Space, Natural History, American
History, and others. To register, visit http://www.carolinahomeschooler.com/atravelwdc.html. Early registrants will have a better chance of getting the White House tour.
Space Camp & Aviation Challenge
We
still have space available in our Space Camp and Aviation Challenge
4-day family programs. Space Camp encompasses mission training and
operations, rocket construction, and space history through hands-on
activities, simulators, IMAX movies, realistic missions, and more.
Aviation Challenge focuses on aviation, and families will train together
as jet fighter pilots on the simulators, learn survival training,
participate in realistic flying missions, learn about the science and
history of flight, and more! See http://www.carolinahomeschooler.com/atravelspa.html for more information about both programs.
Alaska Cruise and Land Tour!
Visit
Alaska with us in May 2013! We'll enjoy a cruise, a land tour, and lots
of adventures together. You won’t be able to book for a few more weeks,
but you can register with me before then to get trip updates and news.
For more information, visit our Alaska trip area at http://www.carolinahomeschooler.com/atravelak.html
